Cartoonists Draw Blood 2023
Cartoonists Draw Blood blood drive with the American Red Cross is taking place on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 10AM-4PM at 8550 Arlington Blvd. Fairfax, VA 22031.
Blood donors meet local cartoonists and take home a complementary sketch after their appointment. As an added incentive, the American Red Cross is providing a limited edition pair of socks featuring the film Elf to blood donors.

Maryland STEM Festival Art Contest Kick-Off Event
Come to the Maryland STEM Festival Art Contest Kick-Off Event at Howard Community College this Saturday, September 10 from 9AM to Noon in the Science, Engineering, and Technology Building (SET). A free, fun family event for all! I was invited to speak about art and encourage young students in grades K-12 to enter in the Art Contest (this year’s theme is Cybersecurity and Information Technology). Winning entries will be announced in a live event at the National Cryptologic Museum.
I will have Curls Studio comics, books, pins, stickers, and other merchandise available for purchase.

I'll be a special guest at the second Fairfax Comic Con of 2022 in a bit over a week on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Dulles Expo Center from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM (VIP entrance opens at 10 AM). The show organizers decided to have the shows this year be one day only on two different Saturdays in 2022. The first was on March 5.

The next “Cartoonists Draw Blood” American Red Cross blood drive is October 26, 2019 at 8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, VA from 9AM to 2PM. All blood donors receive a complimentary cartoon sketch by a Washington, DC area cartoonist.

The Small Press Expo is North America’s premiere independent cartooning and comic arts festival. SPX brings together more than 4,000 cartoonists and comic arts enthusiasts every fall in Bethesda, Maryland.
NCSFest
The National Cartoonists Society is delighted to announce that it has chosen the city of Huntington Beach, California, to host the inaugural NCSFest, a celebration of comics and cartoon art from all over the world. Based on the comic art festivals that are hugely popular in Europe, the festival will be held over the weekend of May 17-19, 2019.
Hundreds of the world’s most celebrated creators are expected to attend the three-day event, participating in seminars, exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions and signing sessions, the vast majority of which will be free to the public. Downtown Huntington Beach will be the setting, with all events staged beachside, on the iconic pier, at the city’s Arts Center and library and in local hotels and businesses, all within easy walking distance.
Ridgetop Coffee & Tea "Meet The Artist"
A new exhibition by Carolyn Belefski is open at the Ridgetop Coffee & Tea Art Gallery, Sterling, VA. The show features 16 "Curls" comic strip prints and 15 original ink art pieces that will be on display until November 30.
A “Meet The Artist” event takes place on November 18 from 9AM to 12 Noon and will feature comic books, original art, buttons, prints, and other rare items available for purchase. Carolyn will be available to autograph items and visitors will have the opportunity to buy affordable art and gifts in advance of the holiday shopping rush.
